Thomas Tuchel will regret allowing Liverpool to sign €35million genius

Liverpool should be on high alert to Ziyech’s situation at Stamford Bridge as they are in need of cover for Mohamed Salah ahead of the 2021/22 season.

I wrote recently that Klopp will regret not challenging for the Morrocan’s signature but now with his time in London potentially drawing to a close, Liverpool must pounce on a player that can solve a few key issues at Anfield.

Liverpool aren’t mentioned as an interested party but they would be silly not to consider making an approach to sign him. With the playmaker reportedly available for just €35m, he’d represent a very clever, money-wise option for Klopp on the right-hand side of attack.

The player’s agent actually said in 2020 that he hoped Liverpool would make a move to sign his client before Chelsea snapped him up for £33.3million.

Before he moved to London where he has struggled due to Frank Lampard’s departure, the 28-year-old got 9 goals and 20 assists during the 2019/20 season. The season before that, he got 21 goals and 24 assists and reached the Champions League semi-finals with Ajax.

This is a major issue as it would leave just Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino behind. Beyond that, Ziyech could fit Liverpool like a glove.

At the turn of the year, the Reds struggled to create clear-cut chances and fell off massively as a result.

Chelsea’s transfer approach, which involves Roman Abramovich bankrolling his managers whenever he replaces one, can pay off as it has with Kai Havertz but it can also see gems like Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku.

Ziyech is older than when those three were released by Chelsea but he could become another regret for the Blues if Jurgen Klopp can get him back to his influential best which saw him contribute directly to 45 goals and assists in the 2017/18 season.

At just €35million, Ziyech represents a smart, opportunistic option in the transfer market that Liverpool would be silly to pass up on.
